Emirati in greener pastures
Im sorry to my loyal readership, I havent blogged in quite a while. I can tell you it was my university, I can tell you it was my personal life, I can tell you it was sheer laziness. But it was a combinination of all of these. I have just not seen the point in blogging for a very long time. Lets face it after all, Blogging seems to be in a recession to the idiocies of facebook. Once more, fun has won over intellectualism or intelligence. So why stick with a declining industry ? Why not pack up with the other hundreds of people who switched to 'online social networking' sites and try to get to be 'the most popular person' there ?
Well, firstly, it is because Facebook is for people with bad networking skills. It is not really a social networking site as it is a social life booster shot to those who are on the verge of slipping into a lifetime of social deprivation. And then the average collection of people who are on facebook are not quite intelligent people, theyre a combination of high school whores, sleazy levanthinian guys, Local ex-Flickr Freaks, and the odd expat or two trying to keep in touch with his 'mates from the pub' so that he can return to rampant alchoholism in the weekend. I cant stand facebook networking and all those little crappy tests they have to identify personality traits. Im more about living my life with a sense of dignity and style.
The readership of the blogosphere has declined enough due to trend sell outs, that I can now have a readership im comfortable with. Watch out Dhahi, Im back and here to rip on you stronger than ever :D.

Sir, I beg to disagree... blogging is more important than ever. Facebook is another medium, but is not replacing blogging.
Every medium that comes along does not replace that which came before - it only adds another channel.
Please keep blogging - I only just subscribed to your fine blog recently - I hope to hear more from you... I too have a new blog / communication channel in the works...
Blog to your hearts content...
Cheers and mabrook on your return to blogging....
Bluey!
While I think your comments re facebook are full of generalities, I'm glad you are back and I look forward to reading your more insightful observations.
Keep on Blogging....it will prevail!
Facebook helps stay in touch with friends I've grown up with - most of whom are spread across the globe today.
Blogging allows one to express away a whole lot of thoughts/sentiments, minus all sorts of direct/real life judgement. I think it has more "freedom" of thought/speech compared to Facebook.
welcome back! gosh! we thought u were dead!!
Facebook is not, and is not meant to be, a replacement for blogging. So blog more!
I agree with all the other commenters. I'm a university student.
Facebook is not designed for the intellectual, it is what its called, a social networking website.
They have notes (their version of the blog) which is probably the only thing remotely close to blogging, but it's mainly used for quick messages that need to be sent out to a great number of people.
The intellects always prefer a professional blog.
But, you had dissappeared man! Great to see you back!
For me they're separate activities, but I do know what you mean about blogging fatigue. Sometimes it seems like there is nothing left to say.
Once more, fun has won over intellectualism or intelligence.
You said it, and I can't help but agree with you more.
Welcome back, might I say, with a bang!
Welcome back, Emirati - I've missed you!
Glad you're writing here again!! Can't wait for a post about the transvestite menace... :-)
WOW!!!! I've been telling people I hate Facebook and will never join it coz I think it's a FacistBook.
Mind you I did join with a fake e-mail once to see what all the fuss is about.. but i have not used that silly account for ages.
Welcome back Bu Shihabbb!
btw, i bumpted into Dhahi in MOE.. damn. he even said Salam coz I stared at his face for so long. he looks so different in a kandoora...
i thought ... if only he knew that i read Emirati's blog!

BuJ: that explains why you never did respond to my Facebook friends request - you never got it because of your fake email address!

your blog is nice with informative posts..I like to spend ample time with your blog.. visit my site at www.durai.frienzz.com
Honestly Emirati, i think you should just stick with university, dont mess up your studies worrying about facebook and all.. you should pass with good grades and excel at your future job and maybe just maybe you might become a president.... a U.S president that is, cause who knows when the world might need another idiot.. that job is always available every 4 years.. so i think you have a chance.. good luck
Maybe Emarati's blog is blocked in the UAE, and he cannot access his own blog... that may explain this long absence
Bravo! Well said! :)
